A Closer Look At The Latest 2016 Stanley Cup Odds

Pittsburgh Penguins Odds To Win The 2016 Stanley Cup +190

The Penguins have been the most impressive team during the NHL Playoffs. They dominated the Rangers 4 to 1 in Round 1. They took down the Stanley Cup favorites, the Washington Capitals, 4 to 2 in Round 2. The Penguins get offense from all 4 of their lines. What it means is that even if Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin don’t score, Pittsburgh still finds a way to knock it into the net. They are a deserving favorite to win Lord Stanley’s Cup.

St. Louis Blues Odds To Win The 2016 Stanley Cup +217

Goaltender Brian Elliott has been awesome for the Blues during the NHL Playoffs. He gives the rest of the team a lot of confidence. The problem with St. Louis is that they don’t always play aggressive enough to win games. The defense is terrific, but without enough aggression to keep San Jose from taking more shots period to period, it’s going to be hard for them to take down the Sharks in the conference finals.

Tampa Bay Lightning Odds To Win The 2016 Stanley Cup +475

I love how Tampa Bay comes up to their series against Pittsburgh. The Lightning should get either Anton Stralman or Steven Stamkos back for the series. They might get lucky. Both star players could return. The Lightning play a counter speed game as opposed to a power game, meaning that they’ll have a shot to upset the Penguins in the series. As it stands now, I don’t see any reason not to put a few bucks onto Tampa Bay to win the 2016 Stanley Cup since goalie Ben Bishop has bene awesome and these guys were close to winning it in 2015.

San Jose Sharks Odds To Win The 2016 Stanley Cup +605

I love the odds. I also love the fact that San Jose beat the Los Angeles Kings, a thorn in their side for years, so handily in Round 1. The way that San Jose took on the Nashville Predators in Round 2 and spanked the Preds 5 to 0 was impressive. I think that the Sharks are flying sky-high right now. There’s no reason to believe that they won’t give St. Louis all that it can handle. At odds of over 6 to 1, they’re worth a few dollars to win the Stanley Cup.
