NHL Lock Picks Halloween Week

NHL Lock Picks Halloween Week

It is Halloween Week and I have a trio of NHL lock picks you can cash in on before the week is up. Happy hunting!

NHL Lock Picks Halloween Week

Chicago Blackhawks at Vancouver Canucks
When: Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 10:00 pm ET
Where: Rogers Arena, Vancouver, BC, CA
TV: NHL

Analysis: Chicago’s emphasis on offense appears to be working. The Blackhawks average 3.6 goals per match, ranking fourth in NHL. Chicago’s 34 shots on goal per also ranks fourth in NHL.

Because Chicago’s so good on the offensive end, they can slide by with a defense that ranks twenty-sixth in goals allowed per match. Vancouver’s job on Wednesday will be to take advantage of the Blackhawks defense.

It’s difficult to see the Canucks doing that. Vancouver only averages 2.5 goals per from 25.7 shots. The Canucks could keep up. More than likely they won’t. Chicago’s the play.

Pick: Chicago Blackhawks

Winnipeg Jets at Florida Panthers
When: Thursday, Nov.1 at 2:00 pm ET
Where: BB&T Center, Sunrise, FL
TV: NBCSN

Analysis: Winnipeg’s not far off from Nashville in the loaded Central Division. The Jets have relied on a stingy defense, one that yields an average of 2.7 goals per match, to win games. Winnipeg faces a team that takes a lot of shots on goal on Thursday, though.

Florida ranks third in NHL in shots on goal per match. The Panthers average 35.4 shots per. Unfortunately for Florida, they only average 3 goals per while allowing 3.7 per. Florida could lose this match by 2 goals on Nov.1.

Pick: Winnipeg Jets

Boston Bruins at Nashville Predators
When: Saturday, Nov. 3 at 8:00 pm ET
Where: Bridgestone Arena, Nashville, TN
TV: ESPN+

Analysis: Boston at Nashville’s the most interesting NHL game on Saturday. Boston’s right there with Tampa Bay, Montreal, and Toronto in the Atlantic Division. The Bruins boast a defense that yields 2.5 goals per, ranking third in NHL.

Nashville counters Boston with an offense that averages 3.5 goals. The Predators are 8-3 before their game with Vegas on Oct. 30. The Preds sure look like the type of team that will step it up against one of the best from the East.

I’m backing Nashville.

Pick: Nashville Predators
