The NHL Is On Hold Thanks To The Olympics

Sorry hockey fans I like you am forced to take a NHL break for the next few days because the winter Olympics in Sochi have begun. The main reason that the NHL decided this time around to take a break was because of the lack of stars that would remain in the league, getting fans to fill the arenas to watch their favorite hockey’s teams with none of the big names would end in a loss for everyone. All the top players have joined their respective countries in order to play under their flag for the chance to be the best in the world.

Although the NHL is on break we will have some great Olympic hockey to watch between countries, one of the best aspects of this will be to see the greats against other greats and sometimes teammates against other teammates which could make for some of the best hockey in a while. The next games that are scheduled are between the US and Switzerland as well as Canada and Finland, both of these games bring a great aspect to the ice, in the US vs. Switzerland we will have some of the best from the NHL on display while the Swiss team has gotten their name out because of their great finish in the under 21 games.

Canada is coming into these Olympics with only one goal in mind, to win gold, they have been among the power houses for the last 15 years and along with Russia they have been part of the most finals of any team in the games. Even without the NHL I can tell you that the country teams that will be playing each other will be just as good or better. I have reviewed just over the top these two upcoming games and I’m not comfortable giving a winner but I will say with confidence that the US game will have at least 4 goals while the Canadian game should have 3 at most.
