NHL Picks March 27 – April 2

Chicago figures prominently in my NHL Picks between March 27 and April 2. On Wednesday, March 29, can Chicago take down Eastern Conference powerhouse Pittsburgh on the road? Then on Sunday, April 2, Chicago hosts Boston at the United Center in Chicago, IL. Are the Blackhawks ready to beat yet another tough Eastern Conference team? Later Sunday, Philadelphia tackles the NY Rangers. Who wins when the Rangers host Philadelphia in what could be a key game on April 2?

Must Bet NHL Picks March 27th – April 2nd

Chicago at Pittsburgh
When:  Wednesday, March 29 at 8:00 pm ET
Where: PPG Paints Arena, Pittsburgh, PA

Analysis: Chicago travels to Pittsburgh on March 29 to face the Penguins in a game that could be a preview of this season’s Stanley Cup Finals. The Blackhawks are 6 and 2 straight up in their last 8 games. Chicago is ahead in the Central Standings.

Pittsburgh sits at 46-17-6-5 to start the week. The Pens, Columbus, and Washington are all a game or two within each other in the Metropolitan Standings. Pittsburgh did lose their last 2 as of March 25. But, both losses were in shootouts.

I think the Pens are too strong for the Blackhawks. Even if Evgeni Malkin sits this one out, Pittsburgh appears well-suited to beat Chicago straight up. I’m backing Pitt.

Pick: Pittsburgh

Boston at Chicago
When:  Sunday, April 2 at 12:30 pm ET
Where: United Center, Chicago, IL

Analysis: Boston versus Chicago could be a dynamite match up this Sunday. The last time these two teams battled each other, the Blackhawks beat the Bruins 1 to 0. What Boston must worry about is how well Chicago goalie Scott Darling played in the last game.

Darling stopped all 30 Boston shots on goal. Since the game took place only a few months ago in January, it’s hard to see Boston doing better against Darling and the Blackhawks on April 2. Another reason to like the Blackhawks is because they take on Boston at the United Center this Sunday.

I’m willing to back Chicago to get it done again versus the Bruins.

Pick: Chicago

Philadelphia at NY Rangers
When:  Sunday, April 2 at 7:30 pm ET
Where: Madison Square Garden, New York, NY

Analysis: Philadelphia battles the Rangers this Sunday in what’s become an interesting rivalry. The last time Philly faced NYR, they beat them 2 to 0. In that game, great Rangers’ goalie Henrik Lundqvist played.

Lundqvist most likely won’t be on the ice for this Sunday match up. Is that going to help the Flyers? I think it might. Philadelphia goalie Steve Mason, who figures to play on April 2, saved 34 shots in the last game against the Rangers.

I like Philadelphia to pull off the upset.

Pick: Philadelphia <
