NHL Must Watch Games Of The Week Of Feb 10-16

Top NHL Games This Week Feb 18-24

The second half of the NHL season is chugging along at a furious pace. This week is no different. I have picked the winners of three of the top NHL games for the week of February 18th the 24th.

Top NHL Games This Week Feb 18-24

Chicago Blackhawks at Detroit Red Wings
When: Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 7:30 pm ET
Where: Little Caesar’s Arena, Detroit, MI

Analysis: The Blackhawks remain the worst team in the Central Division. This could be a good week for Chicago, though, because they’ve beaten the next four teams they’ve faced the last time they faced them.

That includes taking down the Detroit Red Wings 5-2 as a -153 home favorite. Overall, Chicago has an 11-15-3-0 road record. That would seem to be an issue, but as of Feb. 17, Detroit’s home record is only 12-14-1-3.

The Blackhawks should offer decent odds. It makes sense to back Chicago to beat the Red Wings, a team that won’t have much of a home-ice advantage. Chicago gets the call.

Pick: Chicago Blackhawks

Washington Capitals at Toronto Maple Leafs
When: Thursday, Feb. 21 at 7:00 pm ET
Where: Scotiabank Arena, Toronto, ON, CA

Analysis: The Capitals battle the Maple Leafs in Toronto on Thursday in a match that has all the makings of a future playoff battle. Defending champion Washington has been playing okay hockey, but the last time they faced the Leafs they lost 3-6.

Toronto easily handled Washington that day. The Caps are a very good 17-9-4-1 on the road this season. Toronto’s home record is only 17-11-1. The Maple Leafs should be favored and over played in this. That means even though Toronto had their number in the last match, Washington’s worth backing to grab the victory.

Pick: Washington Capitals

Winnipeg Jets at Vegas Golden Knights
When: Friday, Feb. 22 at 10:00 pm ET
Where: T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, NV

Analysis: Vegas broke a 3-game losing streak with a 5-1 win over the Nashville Predators on Feb. 16. The Golden Knights could turn the victory into a streak by running off a couple of wins this week because they face Colorado and Boston early before taking on Winnipeg on Friday.

The last time Vegas hit the ice against Winnipeg, they lost 1-4. The Jets enter the week off two straight losses, but should turn things around this week facing Colorado and Arizona. Vegas is sandwiched between those two rivals.

Vegas, like Toronto on Thursday, should be over played to win this. Winnipeg gets the nod because they’ll offer odds and thoroughly dominated the Golden Knights the last time they faced them.

Pick: Winnipeg Jets
