World Cup Expert Picks June 25-July 1

The group stage is winding down in the 2018 World Cup. There are a handful of teams that still have not locked up their ticket to the knock-out stage. Let’s take a closer look at a few expert betting picks for this week’s World Cup soccer action.

World Cup Expert Picks June 25-July 1

Iceland vs Croatia
When:  Tuesday, June 26 at 2:00 pm ET

Analysis: Iceland’s 0 to 2 loss to Nigeria came on the heels of a great 1 to 1 draw with Lionel Messi and Argentina. Iceland must now work to beat, or at least tie, Croatia.

That won’t be easy to do. In fact, it might be downright impossible to do. Croatia has been one of the very beast teams at the 2018 World Cup. The Croatians are 2 and 0 with a +5 goal differential. They beat Nigeria 2 to 0 before dominating Messi and Argentina 3 to 0.

Pick: Croatia

Serbia vs Brazil
When:  Wednesday, June 27 at 2:00 pm ET

Analysis: Brazil’s fantastic 2 to 0 win over Costa Rica was decent. Now, the Brazilians face a tough Serbian squad. The Brazilians and Swiss are tied in their group. Serbia is right there as well. That makes this a must win for Brazil.

Serbia beat Costa Rica 1 to 0 before losing 1 to 2 to Switzerland. The Serbs appear to be going backward while Brazil may have found their feet.

Brazil’s the play.

Pick: Brazil

Senegal vs Colombia
When:  Thursday, June 28 at 10:00 am ET

Analysis: Colombia has been a huge disappointment in this year’s World Cup. The Colombians were supposed to challenge for the World Cup title. They’re struggling to make it to the Round of 16.

Senegal has been a surprise, beating Poland 2 to 1 and tying 2-2 with the equally surprising Japanese. Senegal has played excellent soccer while Colombia doesn’t really know what’s going on.

I believe Senegal shuts the door on the Colombians in this matchup. Senegal’s defense is much, much better than anyone anticipated while their attack will keep Colombia on their heels.

Senegal wins at least 1 to 0. They could beat Colombia by 2 goals if the Colombians have given up on the World Cup.

Pick: Senegal
