Ronda Rousey Will Beat Cat Zingano At UFC 184 If

Rousey can get Zingano on the ground and force a submission.

Rousey is, arguably, the top female fighter in the world. A deep dig into her 10 and 0 record at UFC and one finds the real reason for her success. She’s an incredibly skilled fighter that forces her opponents to submit.

Rousey submits her opponents 80% of the time. She knocks out her opponents 20% of the time. She’s never won by a decision at UFC yet, which makes this an incredibly interesting battle against the #1 contender to her championship crown, Cat Zingano. Rousey’s take down average is a startling 8.27 compared to Zingano’s at 2.47. Her submission average is 5.73 compared to Zingano’s at 2.47. If Rousey can get Zingano to the ground in this battle, she’ll force Cat to tap out. Ronda is that skilled as a grappler.

Cat Zingano Will Beat Ronda Rousey At UFC 184 If

Zingano can last and win a decision.

It’s difficult to see Cat Zingano winning this fight other than lasting long enough to win by a decision. Zingano has some striking ability, but her striking doesn’t give her much of an advantage. Rousey lands more strikes per minute, 3.69 to 3.09, to Zingano. Cat is more accurate with her strikes, 73.53% to 63.97%, but Rousey’s defense against strikes is slightly better at 52.99% to Zingano’s 43.04%.

That’s not a good sign for Cat’s backers. Rousey throws more punches and it looks like Zingano is going to have to get to Rousey a couple of times in the strike game if she hopes to keep Ronda from putting her on the mat. Cat Zingano is an excellent fighter, but her options are limited against the champ. She needs to hurt Rousey early and then try and stay on her feet and out point Rousey if she hopes to take home the trophy in this main event at UFC 184.

UFC 184 Betting Prediction: Rousey to beat Zingano by submission
