Here we have a three round fight that will last an entire 60 seconds standing up in my opinion, both Mike Pyle and TJ Waldburger are both high ranking Brazilian Jiu-jitsu practitioners, they have an excellent kill set that really complement one another on the ground, this will be a battle as both consider themselves the best in their division in this area. I think the only real difference is that Pyle almost seems more comfortable on his back because of his smaller size to get in awkward positions for arm bars, or chocks.
Mike Pyle has been a UFC fighter since the second day of 2009, he has fought 35 times so far with 25 wins and only 9 losses and he has the majority of his wins, 16 coming by submissions. He is coming off a hard to swallow loss against Matt Brown, he was not really paying attention and was knocked out in the first 30 seconds of round one, that loss was the fastest of his career and I know he will want to write that wrong off his head, that alone should give him the momentum he needs to really have a great showing in this fight.
TJ Waldburger is originally from Texas, he started mixed martial arts training and fighting professionally back in 2005, he has proven that his ground game is to be respected but has not been one of the more active fighters. He currently stands with 24 total fights, 16 wins and 8 losses with 13 wins coming by way of submission. The issue I have with TJ is that he has also proven over the years that he does not have a strong jaw at all; he leaves his hands low for the tack downs but is easily rocked if the fight stays standing. I actually think that Mike Pyle will test TJ´s jaw out early and might get lucky; I see a TKO stoppage in the second round for Pyle.
